Mission Statement

Recycle CellphonesEvery month, new cell phone models are introduced to the market and previous models are considered “out of date”. Many people update their phones every few months to take advantage of exciting new technologies. However, older models can often be refurbished for use by people who are happy to have access to these phones. 80% of the world's population lives in an area with cell phone reception.

Even when they can no longer be reused, cell phones contain precious metals such as copper as well as plastics that can be recycled. According to the EPA, over 100 million phones a year are at risk of ending up in landfills and trash incinerators, wasting valuable materials. This also poses a real danger to human health since harmful materials in cell phones can be released into the air and water supply.

At CollectAPhone, we recognize the serious problem this has become, and we are committed to being part of the solution. Through our partnerships with mobile distributors and recycling plants, we bridge the gap between people who have a cell phone they no longer use and a convenient, eco-friendly recycling option. We make it easy to simply print a free shipping label and send a cell phone in to do some good.

We pledge that every single phone we receive will be reused or recycled.

Our goal is to save every phone from ending up in a landfill, but we are doing more than that. Charities across America do wonderful work for our communities in countless ways, and they are always strapped for cash. In recognition of their tireless efforts, whenever phone is donated via CollectAPhone we provide a direct cash payment to the charity selected by the donor. Payments can be as high as $50 depending on the condition and value of the phone donated.

At CollectAPhone, we consider ourselves to be stewards of the environment. We are doing our part to create a greener and healthier world.
