Q: Which cell phones will CollectAPhone accept?

A: Collect-a-phone accepts cell phones of any model, age and condition. However, phones that are in working condition are preferred so that we can provide a maximum amount of money to the charity you choose.

Q: What happens to the donated phones?

A: Once donated cell phones are received by CollectAPhone, any phone that is in working condition or can be repaired will be professionally refurbished. Any cell phone that can not be repaired will be recycled in an environmentally responsible manner by one of our carefully screened partners.

Q: Who pays for shipping?

A: We pay the shipping costs. Simply print a USPS prepaid shipping label directly from our website to donate your phone at no cost.

Q: Do you keep my information safe and private?

A: Your information is safe with us and will never be sold to third parties. Please see our Privacy Policy for details. We allow anonymous donations as well.

Q: How do I erase the data from my cell phone?

A: We recommend erasing all the data from your phone before donating it. That can be done by resetting your phone to the original factory settings. Refer to your owner’s manual or the manufacturer’s website for instructions. Also, make sure to remove any user locks from your cell phone, or set the password to 0000.

Q: Do you want the phone's accessories?

A: If possible, please do send in the phone’s battery and battery cover.

Q: How many phones can I donate?

A: As many as you want. Remember that each time you donate; you can choose the charity that will be the beneficiary of your donation. If you donate more than five cell phones at a time, please contact us for a special insured shipping label.

Q: If I change my mind after I donate a phone, can I get the phone back?

A: Sorry! Once you send us a phone, we are not able to return it to you due to the number of phones we receive.

Q: Why can’t I find my charity?

A: We make every effort to include all organizations listed as non profit by the IRS. If you do not see your charity, please use this form to submit your charity .
